Gladys Jones Liles

After 97 years of godly living, Gladys Jones Liles passed from this world on January 7, 2023. She was born in Pocohantas, TN to Hugh and Effie Jones on September 18, 1925. She was married for 59 years to her husband Joe (deceased), a union which produced 3 children: Linda (Bob); Larry, deceased (Fran), and Cliff (Brenda). As this family nucleus expanded over time, she became the respected matriarch of 7 grandchildren (Lisa, Stephen, Michael, Mandy, Lindsay, Maryn, and Adam) and 7 great-grandchildren (Lucia, Javier, Caleb, Carter, Mila, Maylee, and Hazel). However, these facts say nothing about her character, which can be summed up by the word “love” – for family, for friends, and most importantly, for her God. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and appreciated her.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 17 at the Collierville Funeral Home, 534 W Poplar. The funeral service will be conducted at the Collierville Church of Christ, 575 Shelton Rd, on Wednesday, January 18 beginning at noon. Burial will take place at the West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery at 2:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial donations be sent to “loveserving autism.org”, a charity started by her granddaughter to provide therapy for autistic children through tennis.
